WHERE DO YOU TYPICALLY WRITE YOUR BLOG POSTS?
At my computer in the designated computer room. Which is basically where I spend most of my time. Especially now that I’ve got a work-from-home job. I’m definitely not complaining, haha!
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE A BOOK REVIEW?
Mm, probably around 30 minutes to an hour, depending. I try to write reviews as soon as I finish a book so it’s fresh in my mind, so it’ll usually just pour out of me pretty easily. Really the most time consuming part is taking the pictures of the book. If I have a physical copy, I like to take my own pictures, and it usually takes about 10 minutes or so, but sometimes it takes longer if I have to wait for good weather, or if I just can’t get the picture I want, or if other random things go wrong. After I get some good pics and edit them how I want, I’ll take a minute or two to edit the featured image template I use for my book reviews, and then I’m done!
WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BOOK BLOG?
I published my first post on December 24th, 2017 — almost four months ago!
WHAT’S THE WORST THING ABOUT HAVING A BOOK BLOG IN YOUR OPINION?
Absolutely nothing! I love having a book blog so much. Really the only thing that sucks right now is trying to keep blogging consistently with a full-time job. I’ve been unemployed for so long that I forgot how to balance work and hobbies! I’ve been really slacking this week because I started this job on Tuesday, but I’m sure it’ll get better once I’ve gotten into the groove of things. It’s just so hectic right now cause I’m trying to get the hang of so many new things!
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT HAVING A BOOK BLOG IN YOUR OPINION?
omg, the people in this community are amazing! I love absolutely every one of you, and I have so much fun talking to you guys in the comments! I also love that it gave me something to be passionate about again. I’ve been having so much fun with this blog, and I look forward to writing more posts every day. It’s just nice to have something that makes me happy like this blog 🙂
WHAT BLOG POST HAVE YOU HAD THE MOST FUN WRITING SO FAR?
I have fun with all of my posts, but I was most excited about my short story publication announcement. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come as a writer, and I love the stories I’ve written so much — they’re like my little word babies. So I pretty much lose my mind every time I receive an email saying my story has been accepted for publication. And I’m so thankful to all of you guys who’ve read my work and left such kind words for me! If you’re interested in reading my works, I updated my About page any time a new story of mine is published.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF BLOG POSTS TO WRITE?
Oh gosh, I don’t even know! I love writing reviews because I don’t have a whole lot of boookish friends IRL, so it’s nice to get all my thoughts out and talk to you guys about books we’ve read. I’m also really enjoying my Weekly Wrap-Up posts. Every Sunday, I post a Weekly Wrap-Up, where I discuss the previous weeks events, posts, and my current reads, and I love it! I take some time to talk about my life with each wrap-up, and I feel like it helps you guys get to know me a little better, and it’s a nice little therapy session for me! Almost like an online journal type of thing.
WHEN DO YOU TYPICALLY WRITE?
Whenever I feel the urge! I’ll often make notes for reviews as I’m reading, so I’ll pull my blog up whenever I have something to write down for that. Otherwise, it’s really just whenever I feel like writing (which is like, all the time).
HOW DO YOU WRITE YOUR BOOK REVIEWS? WITH A CUP OF COFFEE OR TEA? WITH NETFLIX? CUDDLED WITH YOUR FUR BABY?
Pft, I wish I wrote them while cuddling with my fur babies. They’d rather sleep on the chair next to me than in my lap. Right now, one’s on my bf’s computer chair, and the other is on the loveseat in the corner — both are totally passed out.
WHEN DO YOU WRITE YOUR BOOK REVIEWS? RIGHT AFTER FINISHING THE BOOK? TWO WEEKS AFTER FINISHING THE BOOK?
I try to write them immediately after finishing the book. Sometimes I’ll finish a book while in bed, so I’ll wait til the morning to write the review, but I don’t like waiting too long or I’ll forget what I want to say about it.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST?
Really it’s whenever I’m in the mood to blog. I was posting multiple times a day last month, but it’s calmed down a bit. Like I said, this week has been calmer than most since I started working, but I’m hoping I’ll get back in the swing of things soon and be posting at least every couple of days, if not more!
