7 Facts About Me

  • I was in marching band in high school. I played the flute, and I had so much fun. Even during 12-hr outdoor practice days in the 90+ degree Georgia heat. For my freshman year, we did songs from Pirates of the Caribbean, and halfway through our performance we had a big fake pirate fight on the football field using our instruments. It was pretty amazing.

  • I love having different hair colors. I’m a natural brunette, but I started dying my hair red when I was 21, and I just started venturing into the land of more abnormal hair colors last year. It’s so much fun! My most recent color is blue with bits of purple and very slight hints of green mixed in, and it’s sooooo pretty.

  •  I spent a lot of time tinikling in elementary school (see video for those who don’t know what tinikling is… which is probably like, everyone, cause no one ever knows what it is, lol). I don’t know why this traditional Philippine folk dance was included in my American elementary school curriculum, but it was, and I loved it. We tinikled (is that the verb? who knows) to very American songs, though. “Hey Mickey” by Toni Basil was always being played. It was a pretty strange “sport” (idk what it’s considered) to be involved in, and there were a lot of bruised ankles and fingers (being the pole clappers or whatever they’re called was the wooooorst), but there ya go, that was a thing I did.

  • Magical realism is my favorite genre to read and write.

  • I just landed a job as an assistant writer/proofreader for an online company, and I’ve literally never been more excited about a job in my life. I’m finally getting to put my Bachelor’s degrees to use and do something I love!

  • I looooove steamed rice. The smell of it, the taste of it, everything about it! It’s just so good!

  • I don’t wear makeup that much anymore, but when I do, I love using fun, dramatic colors. Oranges and yellows are my favorite right now. I never understood the point of natural-looking eye makeup — it’s just no fun!

  1. Aaaah love your hair! ❤ I tried various colors during high school, but in college I settled with orange and since then I just vary between it and red, I'm kind of afraid to change colors now haha xD I think I haven't seen my natural color, chestnut, in over a decade, forgot how it looks like haha 😀 Aaand congratulations once more on your job, I bet it was the perfect birthday gift! Hope you're enjoying it and that you'll become a famous writer! 🙂

I love steamed rice too, I used to put it in every meal xD My favorite is the mushroom and chicken risotto, yum. 😊 And now I'll go and google tinikling hahaha 😀

    1. Thank you! 😀 I wanted to color my hair so bad in high school, but it wasn’t allowed and my mom was always opposed to it for whatever reason. But now I live on my own, so I can do whatever I want to my hair, haha! I had red for a really long time (like… 6 years?) because I always had jobs that didn’t approve of colored hair. But then I quit my job to focus on school and decided to try out colored hair, and I never looked back! I did red with purple highlights first, then a purple/blue mixture (mainly purple), then green and blue, and now the color in that pic I posted! I’m thinking about doing some combo of pink and yellow next. You should do fun colors with me! 😀

omg, it was the best birthday present! I’m having so much fun with it. 🙂 Haha, hopefully one day!

Yesssss, I LOVE risotto! I haven’t made it with chicken, but mushroom risotto is one of my favorite dishes!

      1. Haha my mom dyed my hair when I was 15 xD Though she didn’t allow me to bleach it to white when I got obsessed with half white half black hair haha 😀 Ugh I wish I did that during college, or that I’d experimented more, but at some point I started fearing big changes. 😀 I want to do a dark-purple-grey ombre for a while now, but with my idiotic curly hair it’s hard to pull that off. :S

        Yay, working lady! 😀

Mmm now I’m hungry for risotto haha xD

      2. Your mom sounds awesome! My mom’s more okay with it now, and she’ll always tell me she likes my hair regardless of what color it is haha. She used to be way stricter. Hahaha, that’d take some intense bleaching! I was nervous about it at first, but I just tell myself it’ll fade eventually if it doesn’t turn out how I want it to, or I could just dye over it, so I’m not as fussed about it. Ooh, that sounds so pretty!

Haha, same! I think the bf and I agreed on Italian for supper tonight — maybe the restaurant we’re going to has risotto!

  2. LOVE YOUR HAIIR! I spent most of my life in a catholic school and it was forbidden to dye your hair, so I did it once I got to college but nothing as cool as blue haha. Tinikling sounds like a lot of fuuun! had no idea what it was haha and Steamed rice is the beeest!

    1. Thank you! 😀 It’s so strange how some people are so opposed to it. It’s just hair! Haha, no one ever knows what it is! I’m surprised it was even a thing at my school.
