Ahhhhh, I’ve been slacking so much with my blog, I’m so sorry, guys! I’ve had next to no spare time these last few weeks, but I haven’t forgotten about the blogging world! I don’t have any new book reviews to put up yet (re: no spare time), but I thought I’d pop in for a quick update because I miss all of you and I miss blogging.
— Life Updates —
There’s been quite a few changes in the last few weeks. My hair is pink now (with purple roots 💜), and I’m loving it so hard and never want any other color (though let’s be honest, it’ll probably change in a few months cause change is fun). I also got another kitty—his name is Felix, he’s around 5-7 years old, he loves to cuddle but is also a big ol’ grumpy butt, and I love him. He’s pretty good with Castle (our 2-year-old kitty), but he’s having a hard time adjusting to Meiko (our 9-month-old kitten). They’re coming around, but they’re taking their sweet time doing it.
I also bought a ukulele! Toys “R” Us is going out of business, so the bf and I took a trip to see what cheap toys we could get, and they had musical instruments for 50% off! So I got this cute guy for $20, and I love it so much, and it makes me super happy.
I also got to see my favorite band, The Front Bottoms, again this past Saturday! This was my 4th time seeing them, and the show was SO GOOD. We had to drive 2 hours to see them this time, but it was well worth it. They were amazing, as usual. The sound quality was absolutely perfect (the bf and I have had bad experiences with shitty sound guys at shows. We had to leave one show cause the sound was so fucked and the bass was so intense that it physically hurt). And the crowd was legit one of the best crowds I’ve ever been a part of. Everyone was so energetic and happy and nice and just so excited to be there. It made the show even more incredible. Ugh, I just love this band SO MUCH.
Monday was Memorial Day and I had the day off work, so I went to my dad’s for a day of hangouts and gumbo! We were planning on going swimming, but it was kinda stormy all day, so that didn’t happen. It was still a fun day, though!
It was a pretty nice, relaxing weekend. Busy, but nice. Looks like this weekend will be close to the same. We’ll be going to the Renaissance Festival with some friends for part of it, which should be tons of fun! I’m hoping to get at least one day of rest in, though. Fingers crossed!
— Currently Reading —
I’m currently reading Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook by Christina Henry. I haven’t had a whole lot of time to read it lately, so I’m only a few chapters in, but it’s great so far! I was also contacted by Lana Grace Riva about reviewing her book, Happier Thinking. I’m super grateful whenever an author contacts me, so of course I accepted the request. It’s a pretty small book—only like 50-something pages—so I’m hoping I can take some time this weekend to get through it and post a review. We’ll see!
